Happy 8/6 day! AE86 Brands Hatch - GP [TEASER]

Yesterday I was driving here for the first time and it was just as amazing as I expected.
If anything, my car was a bit too loud for how strict the noise regs are in this track, and this is the only lap I had a clean-ish run with my car running no air filter (for more HP at the track) and blasting at full RPMs everywhere.
The rest of the footage is nowhere near boring with a lot of racing cars and supercars at the track, so be sure to watch those when I post the Donington ones and these!

Finally!! I was able to put the car back on the track. Why did it take so long? It's a bit embarrassing, really... The clutch was slipping, so I replaced it... only to have a brand new clutch slipping again within hours of use. A seal was leaking, somewhere. The main crank seal was perfect when we fitted the clutch... maybe it was coming from the head? Yeah, but were? Did I need to do an engine...

I found this under my old files. It's the second to last trackday I ever did in the 86, in summer 2017, in Castelloli, near Barcelona. I'm trying my best, but I'm just slower. Still, It's not always I get some camera action from outside, so I hope you find it interesting. PS: plans are already ongoing for a comeback... Watch this space!

Short onboard ride on my 1990 VFR in a twisty road. No acrobatics, just a fun ride. I'm always in my lane, respecting other users, and slowing down as required in populated areas (I edited them out, because nobody's got time for that).

We built the track in literally 3h, and then we went for a few laps. Had an amazing time with RC friends. Mine is the Lancer Evolution V, by the way. Sometimes it's me driving, and others, a friend. I edited this video on my phone and with some clips I was given through Whatsapp, so quality is sub-par at best... But I hope the fun time comes through in the images!

It's been a crazy year, and I haven't been able to drive my car since last December (nearly a year, if you're reading this in 2037...). I always take precautions like disconnecting the battery, and other small details, but a whole year is a lot of time. Will it start? And if it does, will it run right?? Place your bets! Also, big insight of my engine setup and other misc stuff around the car!

@@faunastation5147 lol no. Turbo is not for me. It has a 20 valve 4AGE. There's ample info on it on other videos in my channel and in Gear98's channel about the build of it

@@YoShImUrA53haha I wish, my friend was there in the blue Calsonic R32, unfortunately had a few issues so wasn’t out much. I was in a light blue M4. A bit characterless compared to old jap stuff but much cheaper to run on track!

@@Soyo86 thanks! I think some people were just getting warmed up to their first laps or cooling off, really. I haven't, sorry. I've read and spoken to friends that have and it never really works as intended. For instance one side turns more than the other, or stuff like that. If that was bad fitting, I can't say, tbh.

Not being passed by a single car!?! Your vids have made me totally reconsider tracking my 86, I always thought it would just be a rolling road block for the other cars. Have you considered a quickrack from Flo's? they do LHD ones and the conversion bushes you need to fit to a PAS member- I'm still running the PAS knuckles with mine and the steering is fast, but not too twitchy.
@@mattteee2973 Thanks! That's great info and I'm seriously considering a manual rack at this point. I'm a bit wary about the quick rack, as I don't personally feel like I need it any faster than stock. It IS a very slow car when compared with any regular car competently driven. Especially if you don't have a built engine. But I guess there were a few at the track that didn't have much experience and they make me look good!😬😂

@@EduS2K_ el grupo es el de serie. 4.3. El salto de 3a a 4a es tan grande (y de 4a a 5a tan corto) que en Japón es habitual montar una "3.5" que encaja entre medias. Yo no soy fan de esta combinación. La idea es montar un desarrollo más corto y marchas mejor escalonadas, pero como no las regalan, por ahora voy con lo que ves. Se aceptan donaciones!! 😂

En 2016 grababa el sonido de escape y aquí es de admisión. Pero siento decirte que la mayoría prefiere este sonido, como ves en otros comentarios.

blows my mind that a BAC mono can be driven so slowly through corners! Donington looks more fun than I thought it would in a corolla though, I'll have to look out for future dates...
@@mattteee2973 I think this driver had no track experience whatsoever (at least on Donington) and was completely lost on the lines. Having such a high performing package, I would've just stuck behind someone to show the way around... I guess not everyone is as preoccupied with their craft as much as on what they're driving. Edit: yes, the track is fun as hell, but requires big pair of... Commitments. A lot of fast corners!😃
Phenomenal lap, I can’t even do that shit in Forza. This is how an AW11 is driven.
